The End of an Era
In the year 2503, the galactic economy crashed. Nobody could explain why, some said it was caused by the end of the 2-year war with the GSGT, others by a fear that the stock market would never be the same. Regardless, millions of companies across the colonies halted everything. Jobs were lost. Billions went into a state of poverty. For months, bureaucratic finger-pointing between business interests and the United Nations Orbital Consul led to nothing. Then, these interests got fed up with it and gave the poor a chance to work for them, to restore the economy. The UNOC called it bollocks. Told them where to shove their ideas. They didn't listen. Many got the jobs they needed. Those who didn't, made a new career choice, trading in their once blessed credits from which they would buy food, for guns. Violence broke out on every colony, as once happy people were forced to execute acts of terrorism on corporations, and on UNOC interests.
The UNOC was falling apart at the seams. Trying to patch a frail economy up, they watched as their own control on the universe fell. They lost money and power to the evergrowing terrorists and corporations. By the year 2507, the UNOC, was no more. 271 charter members were sentenced to live the rest of their lives on penal colonies, but only 40 made it, the cowards had enough might in them to make their own way out with a bullet.
The Federation of Allied Worlds, formed by the UNOC in 2231, took power. They made every world independent, they gave the economic fuel to corporations. The economy began to restore itself. By 2508, it was nearly 10 times what it ever was. An old era had ended. A new one had begun.
Religion
Hassan El-Auhard was once one of the cabinet members of Durnal's Islamic Church. He left during the economic crisis, looking at how religion had fueled wars over the past, and the self-made religion the GSGT wielded as a weapon. He sighed. No more prayer. No more fasting. He gave his faith up. What shocked the islamic community shocked a majority of the already dwindling religious groups left in the universe. He wrote a book, called 'New Weapons, Old Tactics' in which he quoted Karl Marx's ever popular statement that "Religion is the opiate of the masses." However, his religious bashing didn't go as far as his strikes towards the fragile UNOC. He called them "A failed attempt at Dictatorship." That they did "Nothing for the human race, just attempted to destroy it." He spoke with fire and passion.
The day the Federation took control, he called it "A Miracle. There might be hope yet for our confused species." With that, he made a new following. He doesn't like to call it a religion, he calls it a gathering to help humanity better itself. He calls it the 'Church of Enlightenment.'
Technology
Man has far greater tasks than it did before. Nanotechnology has become a part of our lives. Imagine being able to lift tons over your head, to jump higher than before, to hear conversations 20 kilometers away. The nanotech firm Warwick Applied Nanotechnologies joined sides with AvandaCorp, a medical supplies and technology company, and SomTech, a military and civilian manufacturing company, and made this possible. in 2511 the first generation of "Augmentations" went on the market. Almost immediatly purchased by military and special interests, they made millions. They worked perfectly. There were some errors, some deaths, but nearly 98 percent of recipients accepted the new technology without problems. AvandaCorp and SomTech, however, eventually grew farther and farther away, until they were fighting with each other. Still, their products are manufacured, and sell like they did when they were introduced.
Terrorism
Terrorism has not ended. Although many groups eventually merged into colonial military, many went underground. They found new reasons to drink the bloods of their enemies. A high amount of them lived deep in the underground of Khava Kari, one of Durnal's largest's cities. These groups fight for land, money, rights, and power. Hassan El-Auhard quoted that "Someone is behind this terrorism, and I point my finger at the corporations." Many doubted him, but a close friend, David Hawkins, the Federation chancellor, talked to him about this. There is no availible logs from that discussion.
Terrorism has a motive. Whatever this motive is, its a far more difficult task trying to find it than it is fighting it.
GSGT Technologies
Underneath all the fanaticism, the GSGT had tried to meld man and machine. Their many test subjects died. Some lived, but never lived normal lives again. One of these core technologies was a supercomputer capable of giving a person hooked into it the power to 'control worlds.' The 'Hive Mind' as it was called, was planned, designed, and even tested. However, many critics called the idea of a Hive Mind doubtful, claiming it was nothing but a 'bullshit story.' Hassan El-Auhard spoke on this issue in a meeting regarding nanotechnology, "The idea of a human mind processor, like the Hive Mind, is out there. It's possible. But none of us are at the level to comprehend it. One day we could be hooked up in this 'Hive Mind,' the next it could be entire realities." The Federation of Allied Worlds has not found proof proving the exsistance of a Hive Mind.
Khava Kari. 2527
Terrorist attacks have increased over the weeks. The four main groups, the Helix Brotherhood, the Orion Street Revolution, the Genesis Children, and the Underground Hunters, are all caught in a struggle. Peace talks seem to calm them down, but they only end up fighting again. The Khava Kari Police Department is constantly busy debunking threats. Many people live in fear, some have adjusted to the life with the backdrop of war. The Federation of Allied Worlds wants to create a stalemate, getting the terrorists to stop. So far, they're listening. A cease-fire might be drafted in a few days time.
Along with the fighting, AvandaCorp and SomTech continue to bitch about their problems. Many of the members in the Federation feel that something has caused this, and than an investigation is needed. A decision is to be made in a secret council in the near future.
Anyways, here's the gist of it
It has been 25 years since Robert Mackeige shattered the Illuminatus Sect DV-8, destroyed the GSGT communications presence, and crashed the early version of UNOC's Aquinas Colonial Control AI Systems(UNOCACCAIS), COLCOM(Colonial Communications) and COLECO(Colonial Economy), sending the universe into a period of war and rebuilding.
25 years have past, and the once powerful organization DV-8 is in a position to take back the universe they lost control of. They aren't the only ones, however. A military technology firm, a pharmaceutical firm, a conservative government sect, a reformed section of the Bavarian Illuminati, and a resurrection of two pre-21st century organizations as one body threaten to take control of the universe DV-8 had control of.
As Steven M, an elite agent in the FAW's/CTEN's squad of agents sent to debunk financial propaganda, you are sent to the world of Durnal, a planet ravaged by terrorism, the wool over the masses eyes that covers the real invisible war being waged for their very souls. As you get deeper into the heart of DV-8, and your own organization, you dig up pieces of the past you can't remember, the truth of your exsistance, and why your military issue biomods exceed CTEN requirements.
As you realize your life is not what it seems, outside a war is being fought for humankind's salvation. The decisions you make will decide the fate of all mankind for centuries to come. And it goes beyond faceless people, it reaches out to people you know, people you care about.

No martial arts. Its going to be non-linear, like Deus Ex. You can take any given path to complete an objective. You can use stealth to avoid combat or run in there guns blazing. You can take the front door, the back door, the ventilation shaft, or hell, blow a hole in the wall.

And make it so you have an inventory, like STALKER, and theres all inds of stuff you can pick up..
And make it so you can be evil, and join the terrorists if you want.
I also got some weapon ideas. Like a shotgun that can be retrofitted with three types of shells, standard 12 gauge, cluster shells (kinda like a flak cannon, kinda) and volatile rounds (that explode on contact). Also, the G11 will be in the game.

Lookin good so far.
The entire game bases itself around choices. Those we make, we havete be ready to comprehend the outcome. You will be able to switch sides. All of them lead to the end, however, where are going to be at least a minimum of 20 endings.
There is more to the story, but some things are better off never said.
Inventory will work like in Deus Ex. Anything in the game world can be picked up and used.

One more thing, don't call this a ripoff of DX. DX is a great game, and it has no doubt influenced what direction I want to take this.
But DX is more of a conspiracy-type story. Rev2 is as well. But Rev2 is also more or less a culture clash, taking you into the cyberpunk culture, as well as life in a tattered warzone. To call it a copycat is underestimating it.

Also there are Screech Grenades (take a guess at what they do) and Bio/Chem grenades that'll have ya pulling your Bio/Chem equipment out.
Also there are two types of grenades. Your normal HE Grenades, and the new MCTG (Minimal Combat Tactical Grenades) which are small red spheres that mix two chemicals that ignite and explode on contact. They're small, they can be rolled around, and in most cases, go unnoticed. Also there are EMP Grenades, that fries most machinery, and Scramble Grenades, that execute temporary sensory deprevation on a machine. In some cases, machines without senses usually open fire on any target in the area.
You also got your nonlethal options. Pepper foam, Tasers, Stunpacks, and one called a "Shock Disk" that on impact creates a shockwave that sends enemies flying.
But when it comes to clearing rooms in the messiest ways possible, there's no limitation. You can double fist some weapons (considering double fisting MP5ks) as well as assault rifles, and im toying around with the idea of a minigun.

Superhigh powered sniper rifle with an infrared scope.
Not quite a railgun, but doors+thin walls = dead guards.
I can picture a dude crawling through an air vent, sniping guards through grates, when suddenly it collapses, an alarm goes off, and suddenly every guard in the building is coming for him.
* Wolvish goes off to play half-life, if he can find it.

Anyone wanna color it for me?
I wouldn't do a good job of it, because I suck at photoshop. But, when my scanners up and working again, after I post pics of myself and my dog, I'm gonna post a few pics that this thread inspired.
